Nissan Repair: Dash lights, nissan pathfinder, amp light

Question
HELP!!
I have been working on my 1991 Nissan Pathfinder(SE V6) for over twelve hours trying to figure this out. Here is the history of the problem. We went to the Outer Banks in NC last Thanksgiving and got caught in a bad noreaster. When we went to the store to get some supplies, another vehicle swamped our car with water. After this, the AT/OIL TEMP, brake and amp light came on. Also the alternator was not charging. I figured since the alternator was down low, it must have got wet. I parked it at our condo there and opened the hood to let it air out. The next morning i cranked it up, it was working fine with no warning lights on the dash. Now it is doing it again. I checked all the connections and even pulled the alternator and took it to a parts store to have it checked and they said it was fine. After I put it back on, same thing.. Could the salt water have caused some corrosion somewhere and cause this issue? I have checked all the grounds and harness connections I can find. Even though it was tested, I still may suspect the alternator. Any ideas? Thanks so much!!

Answer
Jeff,

The alternator is connected to the battery via a cable with a fuse or fuse link.  I bet the system was over loaded when it got wet and blew that fuse or fuse link.  It is located at the positive terminal of the battery.  Should be a smaller wire coming off the cable.
