Nissan Repair: 1993 pickup, hanger bearing, shaft assembly

Question
I am replacing the hanger bearing in a 1993 Nissan pickup, 6 cylinder 4wd. When putting the assembly together the assembly locks up when I tighten the nut on the yoke pulling the yoke, bearing & shaft together. The dust shield on the yoke side gets on the rubber before the yoke and bearing tighten up. Should there be a spacer between the hanger bearing and the yoke to keep the dust shield off of the rubber? If so, do you know the spec's on the spacer? I can not find any information or drawing information on the full shaft assembly. I did not notice a washer/spacer when taking the old bearing unit out. One of the manuals I looked at shows a spacer but none of the parts stores have any information on the spacer. I can make one but I need the spec's of the spacer.

Any help would be very helpful!!
THANKS!!

Answer
Adam,

If yours is not specifically a Nissan part for your year I have seen where spacers have to be installed or even the unit has to be reversed so it is a matter of experimentation.  No specs on a spacer just make one that gets the spacing and you are there.  Otherwise, rockauto.com or courtesynissan.com for a factory part.
