Nissan Repair: 98 Nisson Glove Compartment Locked, nisson, car key

We just bought a 98 Nisson and the glove compartment is locked. Car key doesn't seem to open it and the seller never tried. Should we try car key again or go to dealership to get one?

Check to see if you have the valet key and not the regular one.  If the key is the valet have the dealership or a locksmith cut you a master key and you should be good to go.  Otherwise, the ignition key might have been changed and now it does not match the glovebox.
