Nissan Repair: 97 Maxima GLE miss firing after spark plug change, vacuum hoses, maxima gle

Question
Just bought used. 100K Reasonably maintained, except the plugs.  Just had NGK Iridiums put it by the local tune up shop (bought them myself though).  Car now misses, noticeable when idling and hesitates shifting between 38-40 MPH.  Swapped a couple of the ignition cable positions in the the front three cylinders-a little better but not much.  Suspect the ignition wires-stretched or arcing? Don't have the special wrench to get down in there and check the plugs. That set of plugs that were replaced had been in there for almost 70K by my calculations.  Should I start with a new set of wires?  Thanks.

Answer
my first instinct on this one is that when they "pulled" the plug wires to replace your plugs they probably tore the wires apart and failed to tell you.  these plug wires are difficult to get out and takes time.  my first suggestion would be to check to see if they were put in the correct firing order.  second, if they are correct i suggest looking for loose vacuum hoses or anything in the area of the plugs that may have came loose when they changed the plugs.  third i would purchase a new set of plug wires.  these tests are in order of costs.  good luck with this and let me know how it turns out for you.  xxp_sebby@yahoo.com
