Nissan Repair: 200sx Ticking, valve cover gasket, haynes manual

My 1997 200sx Turbo makes a quite loud ticking noise when sitting at idle. When I drive it goes, then comes back when I stop. Even if I sit stationary and get the biting point it goes away! Is it the tappets or something else?

Yes, it sounds like the cam followers that need adjustment.  Check under the hood for the lash adjustment setting for intake and exhaust.  Get a valve cover gasket and it is really not that big a deal to set them.  A Haynes Manual gives you the photographs so get one and if you need further help send me an email.
