The 2000 Maxima has a problem with the coils and they would have been covered under warranty had they failed while it was in warranty.  However, you will need to purchase them and get them installed since the warranty is over.  Checkout rockauto.com or courtesynissan.com and order them.  An easy replacement if you have the tools.  Just a ten millimeter socket to get them off and a screwdriver to get the connector to release.  Once you replace the plugs reset the code and you should be good for many years.
