Nissan Repair: Nissan altima overheating, nissan altima, water control

Question
After replacing water pump and thermostat.. Nissan Altima 98 is still overheating and heat blows cold in the car. Could it be a radiator blockage or water control valve?  The top hose from the radiator is hot but the bottom hose connected to the thermostat is still cold with the car at running temp.

Answer
Dave,

You need to bleed the air from the system.  The system has trapped air in it.  There should be bleed screw high on the cooling system.  If not, unscrew a hose clamp high on the system and let the air out.  Once coolant comes out tighten the clamp and run the car around the block.  It might take a couple of times to get all the air out but that is how it works.
