Nissan Repair: Suspension Noise, suspension component, transmission mounts

Question
I owen a 1996 240SX with 154k trouble free miles.  When stoping I have noticed a clunking in the right front that sounds heavy and dull and clunk two or three times in the course of roll-out to a full stop.  I have check all components, struts, links etc. and can not nail down the source.  Any advice would be great...!

Answer
Thomas,

The noise is probably related to a suspension component.  I would look at the engine and transmission mounts first.  Then, the lower control arms and the strut.  But, for my thoughts the engine mounts have been what I have found the most.  The engine is loose, but not too loose, and it moves and makes clunking sounds when you slow down to stop.
