Nissan Repair: 98 Infiniti QX4 Antenna Mast Replacement, antenna mast, infiniti qx4

Ordered an new mast.  At the base of the antenna where it mounts to the fender are 2 small holes that look like it is where it will unscrew.  What do I need to do to remove and replace the mast?

I will assume yours is electric?  If so, and you only bought a mast, you will need to unscrew the top nut and then turn the radio on to get the broken part out.  Once the cable unwinds enough to get plyers on it just help it all the way out.  Now, turn the radio off as you feed in the new cable and help it until it catches and winds itself in.  Then, install the nut on the top and you are done.  If you are takling about taking the assembly out you will have to remove the bottom fender bolts and the one inside by the door and loosen those at the top of the fender and those in the fender well and pull out to get access.  Use tape on the hood and fender and door to keep from nicking the paint.  Then, you will have to remove the bolts that hold the assembly and get under the dash and fish out the old antenna cable.  Assembly is just reverse of the aforementioned.
