Nissan Repair: 1991 nissan starter, bolt, remote control

help! i have just recently purchased this truck and havent got a book on it yet. my starter went out  and i cant get the thing out. it looks as though you have to tear the top of the engine apart.ive got the bottom bolt out but cant get the top one, or get to the wiring.      its about 11:30pm and ive got to try to get to work in the morning. please help.             chad

Sorry that I just got off work to answer this.  But, the starter can be removed without taking the manifold off.  You need a swivel to get to the other bolt and it is a remote control surgery to get the blanking thing off.  Not a good design.  I have seen those that take the motor mounts loose to get better access.
