Nissan Repair: 1990 Maxmia, wont start on its own, crank angle sensor, rotor coil

Question
My wife said there was a miss in her car.(1990 Maxmia, 68,000 orginal miles) I thought it may be an electrical problem since I have not done a tune-up in a while. So I changed the plugs, wires, cap, rotor, coil, fuel filter, & air filter. This did not help at all,in fact it got to the point where the miss got so bad that the car will not start up on its own. If I spray ether into the intake it will fire right up and run as long as I continue to spray the ether. The fuel pump pressure is 50 psi. I even  spoke a mechanic friend about this and he's stumped on this one.  Thanks Ray

Answer
If the pump pressure is good then I would be looking at the injectors not firing properly.  That is, there is a crank angle sensor that tells the injectors to open and if it is not working the injectors will not fire.  It could be plugged up injectors and the only way to tell is to remove them and check them.  But, I would replace the sensor first as it is cheaper than injectors and easier to replace.
