Nissan Repair: 2000 Max ventilation panel lights, ventilation system, back bottom

A lamp has burned out on the ventilation system panel display (the right three buttons do not illuminate).  Just wondering how to remove the panel to access the lamp in order to replace it.

It is not easy.  I would get a copy of the service manual for visual aids.  First, move both front seats forward and remove the two secrew at the back, bottom of the console.  Then, remove the cover inside the floor of the console and remove the screws there.  Then remove the ashtray and remove the screw there.  Now, take the front screws out of the console and lift it up and back.  Now, you can get to the screws that hold the bottom of the dash center.  You have to remove the console to get to the bottom screws to allo it to be removed.  There are a couple of more screws up by the vents and the whole center comes out.  A really interesting way to put the radio and such in.  Really, the best way is to get the factory service manual for the drawings that show where all the screws are...
