Nissan Repair: hood release, arthur fonzarelli, hood latch

My hood won't pop open. The release handle on the inside can pull the cable back but the hood latch won't pop. How can I open it from the outside?

I don't know what car you drive, but they don't make them so you can get it from outside due to theft. That's why they put the cable inside! Trained technicians would know where to actuate the latch, but I don't think that's the problem. Try pulling the release and give it a Fonzy on the hood. Maybe a couple of Fonzy's! It should pop. Then when you get it open, adjust the little rubber things on each side so they sit up as high as they will go. Maybe a little lube on the latch area.

Great! I love it when a plan comes together! LOL Arthur Fonzarelli was a character on "Happy Days" a somewhat entertaining 70's/80's show running from 1974 to 1984. Richie was a co-star played by Ron Howard, but "Fonzy" always was able to steal the show. Played by Henry Winkler, has was able to start a juke box by giving the elbow. Hence "give it a Fonzy"
