Nissan Repair: 1993 nissan pick up, local wrecking yards, clutch assembly

Question
I've a 5 speed manual transmission. It won't go into reverse. It's fine in all other gears. It makes no grinding sound, no noise. The shifter will pull back about half way into reverse & then stops. Three months ago, it would pop out of reverse. I had the tranny fluid changed, then. It hasn't had a problem since, yesterday.

Answer
Hi Tammi,

The syncros that stop reverse from spinning to allow you to engage reverse are shot. For the year of the truck, I suggest looking around for a used one at your local wrecking yards. Plan on a clutch assembly as well. The repair should run about $1200 to $1300 or there abouts.
