Nissan Repair: 98 frontier odometer, nissan frontier, mechanical limits

Question
i have a 98 nissan frontier and i jus replaced the instrument cluster in it.. everything was messed up on the old one and i believe it was a resistor... i have 113,000 miles on my truck but with this new cluster it reads 170,000 from the truck it was in previously.... can i get it re-programmed at an electric shop or the dealership?

Answer
Matthew,

Yes, speedometer specialty shops and dealerships have the computer tool to reprogram the odometer.  In most states they do not care about the odometer after the vehicle has rolled over 100K miles.  Usually, the title will read that "Mileage Exceeds Mechanical Limits".  But, I like things to read properly.  You could take yours apart and put the odometer out of the old one in the new cluster if you did not want to spend the money.
