Nissan Repair: It stopped!, charging battery, battery terminals

Question
I was driving down the highway yesterday at about 70 mph (and had been for about an 45 min). All of a sudden I felt the car lurch a bit and then it stopped. A few minutes later, it lurched again, almost like a bucking feeling. Then all my lights came one and I quickly pulled over and hte car just died. Everything just went dead. I turned off hte car and then tried to turn it on but all the lights went on again and there was nothing. I sat there in a panic for a few minutes trying to decide what to do since I was far from home, and then I tried it again. It started right up. I stopped at a service station where they told me to add an additive to the gas because there might have been some problems with the fuel (water?). Anyway, I did that, stayed under 60 mph the rest of the day (lots of driving) and no further trouble. I had just filled the tank before I started driving at a different staion than I usually do with regular gas. Any chance the gas there is watered down? They have the cheapest prices around. Any other ideas?

Answer
Yes, there is a chance the gas is watered down. But, because it stopped like it did, I would still check some routine in-trip things once you get to where you are going.
Alternator for charging, Battery for starting, battery terminals for contact. Replace the fuel filter as soon as you can and tell whomever replaces it to catch the fuel out of it into a glass. If theres water in it , you will find it clearly at this point.
