Nissan Repair: 2002 nissan maxima steering, cv axles, smooth pavement

Question
Hi Von, I Have A Steering Problem With My 2002 Maxima. A Year Ago, I Had New Struts And Front Cv Axles Placed On My Car. When They Finished, An Alignment Was Performed. The Car Is Now Very Unstable Over Bumpy Roads. The Steering Seems To Wander On Smooth Pavement. So I Took It To An Alignment Shop Only To Be Told Everything Looked Fine. What Could Be A Solution?

Answer
Alan,

If the caster is set too far back it can cause the car to wander.  Also, rotate the tires from front to back and see how this does.  Also, if the toe is set in or perfectly centered that can cause the car to wander too.  Also, check the air in the tires.  Too much air will cause the car to bounce on rough roads and wander on smooth pavement.
