Nissan Repair: 2000 nissan maxima window motor, nissan maxima, down position

Question
Hi, I hope you can help with this. My 2000 nissan maxima drivers side window has been really noisy and sometimes rolls part way up and then all the way down again on its own. I have been meaning to get it fixed but today the inside of the door started smoking with a smell of burning platic and the window is now RIP. After pulling the door panal the motor apeared to have fried, and the window is stuck in the down position. How can you remove the motor to replace it if its stuck there. Any help would be greatly apriated

Answer
You'll need to either detach (separate) what drives the window (a plastic track?) from driving the window; if not,  just go after the glass and take it out, so you can work.

Since you didn't look at it before you smoked the motor...you may have to take the other panel off to see how it really suppose to operate; as, if you don't, you may end up replacing the motor and find out afterwards that it was something else that originally failed that stalled your motor.

Also, most window motors are built with a thermal couple inside that breaks the current when the motor overheats...how you burnt it up is beyond me.
