Car Alarms: 1998 Honda CRV alarm, honda crv, blown fuse

Question
I have a 1998 Honda CRV EX with a factory alarm. When I set the alarm, the parking lights do not flash.  If I remember correctly, they used to.  The parking (orange) lights themselves work just fine, they just dont flash when the alarm is set.  Is this normal operation or should they be flashing when the alarm is set/armed and disarmed?

It is normal for the lights to flash.
And it's also likely you are dealing with an
aftermarket system as this year vehicle does
not show a remote controlled alarm in the OEM notes.

It may have a blown fuse inline on the parking light
output. Best idea is to drop the under panel and inspect
& repair/replace it.
