Nissan Repair: No Spark, nissan altima, fuel mixture

Question
I have a 93 nissan altima 5 spd. i believe it is the GLE model. I went to visit a friend and came to a traffic light a block away from his house and i noticed that, as i pulled off into first gear, my car got to knocking and it only stop when i came to a stop. then i smelled badly burning fuel mixture. I arrived at his house, turned the car off, and tried turn crank it up, and it wouldn't start up. The engine is turning but not starting. I unplugged my main plug for my ignition coil and turned the engine, of course no spark. I replaced the coil and still no spark, what is going on?

Answer
Sounds like you broke the timing belt. Remove the distributor cap and have someone crank the engine and see if the rotor turns. If it does not, then you'll need to have that replaced. There is a possibility that you damaged the valves and the head will need to be rebuilt or replaced. Let's hope that is not the case.
