Nissan Repair: SPEEDOMETER, vehicle speed sensor, nissan xterra

Question
I HAVE AN 03 NISSAN XTERRA V6/5 SPEED. THE SPEEDOMETER STOPPED WORKING. IT DOES NOT SHOW MY SPEED ANYMORE.
I HAVE CHECKED ALL THE CABLES AND CONNECTION AND EVERYTHING LOOKS FINE TO ME. I REMOVE THE DASH AND OILED THE SPEEDOMETER BUT NO HELP. I WAS THINKING OF LUBING THE CABLE BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW TO PULL CABLE OUT. WHAT DO YOU THINK IS CAUSING THIS PROBLEM? IS THERE ANYTHING ELSE LIKE FUSE I COULD CHECK?  IS THERE ANY RELAY OR FUSE THAT CONTROL THE VEHICLE SPEED SENSOR? I WOULD LIKE TO FIX IT MYSELF. THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR HELP.

Answer
Steve,

Since there is no cable on this vehicle it would be difficult, please tell me you were kinding about "lubing the speedometer". You have a bad speed sensor on the transmission. Very common. It's $52 at the dealer, I need your tire size and super charged or not and if it's SE to give you the part number.
