Nissan Repair: electrical problems, nissan sentra gxe, nissan sentra

in my 1996 nissan sentra gxe when i turn my head lights my tail lights don't light up and my front turning signal lights don't light up either.  the funny thing is if i turn on the turning signal switch they blink like they are supposed to.  please give me some idea on what could be the problem.  oh yeah, the fuse for the tail lights and signal are fine.  when i hit the brakes my tail lights come on.  thanks

Though eletrical is not my favorite, it seems my most popular questions! I believe you have a bad multi-switch. Nissan doesn't supply me with the part number but it looks like the book calls for .6 of an hour (36 minutes) to replace it. Should be around $40 new.
