Nissan Repair: no power, fuse block, stero

Question
Hi..I have a 1989 kingcab nissan 4cyl..a few days ago I would be driving it and after a little while the stero would cut in and out then it would just shut off, after that the engine would start to bogg everytime I tried to acelarate and it would stall, I figured it would be the alternator so I changed it but now I have no power when tring to start the truck, I hooked the new alternator exactly how I took it out, the battery is good, but there is no power what so ever..can you help me? thanks

Answer
Dom,

Either the battery is defective or the alternator is not hooked up correctly.  Now, you could have a bad cable and it be hooked up correctly.  but, the cable could be broken internally.  Also, check the fuse block at the positive side of the battery.  So, the steps are the battery being checked and then the cables for good connection and not being damaged and then the fuses.
