Nissan Repair: Half shaft removal, shaft removal, pinion shaft

For 1998 Altima AT, do I need to remove the drivers side half shaft and then drive the passenger side out?

That would be near impossible since the pinion shaft wouldn't like being pounded on! LOL No, just remove the passenger side. They can be stubborn, but there is nothing you can break, so have at it. If your having trouble it might be because there is a clip that holds the axle in. It will come out because the clip collapses. My guys use a giant pry bar and sometimes ask me to "lean" on it. At 285 pounds and an ex lineman, I can work it! LOL BTW you will not get this out with a screwdriver. Not gonna happen. Hope this helps!
