Nissan Repair: Brake and Clock, switch ties, dash clock

Everytime I brake without the lights on the clock light turns off. When the lights are on the clock remains lighted with correct time. The time on the clock remains correct either way. I there a relay switch beind the glove box that is failing as I hear it clicks when braking. The car is an Altima 1996.

It is hard to believe that the headlight switch is the culpret here.  The master switch has all the wires running through it and it would be my thought that is where the brake wiring is shorting out the dash clock.  Remember, that the flashers are on the same circuit and that is part of the harness where the headlight switch ties in.
