Nissan Repair: NISSAN A31 CEFIRO, a31 cefiro, 1989 nissan cefiro

Question
HI I HAVE A 1989 NISSAN CEFIRO WITH A RB20DE IT HAD ENGINE BAY RUST SO I REMOVED ENGINE CLEANED IT UP AND REPLACED THE ENGINE BACK INTO THE CAR NOW IT RUNNS LIKE A "WANKLE" ROTARY ENGINE.
I DID A SELF DIAGNOSTIC AND I KEEP GETTING THE KNOCK SENSOR FAULT WOULD THAT BE WHY THE ENGINE IS RUNNING LIKE A BAG OF S#@T?

AND ALSO WHERE IS THE KNOCK SENSOR?

Answer
Kris,

I have not worked on a Cefiro so if it is a V6 it is under the intake and if it is a four cylinder it is located beside the intake and under it.  Purchase a new one and you will know what you are looking for.  Knock sensors are a known problem with Nissan cars.  I should not say that and what I should say is if you disconnect the knock sensor it usually fails when you hook it back up.  So, it is nothing you did and it just happens.
