Nissan Repair: ac on pathfinder, r 134a refrigerant, sight glass

Question
Where do i add R 134a refrigerant, thought it was the bluish green lid by the radiator with the H on it but the refill kit from id would not fit on it.

Hi John -

Refrigerant is always filled on the low side, and you are correct, it is a different fitting so one does not get confused. Look for it nearer to the accumulator or drier. I believe the H on the cap stands for HIGH SIDE.

If there is a sight glass, check for bubbles while the A/C is on. If there is, you may be low on refrigerant, and you should check for a leak once refilled.

If filling with refrigerant does not work, try spraying water on the condenser while the engine is running, A/C on high. If the air gets substantially cooler, then you have blockage in the line, filter/drier, probably.
