Nissan Repair: 2000 Maxima wont start, air flow meter, body control module

Question
My 2000 maxima won't start, it makes the cranking noise, but just will not start.  The fuel pump, fuel filter, the fuel lever sending unit, the air flow meter & filter along with the AAC valve & gasket have been replaced, by the dealership, and I am still having problems with it starting.  Now it is getting to were it will just die on you in the middle of traffic.  I have also noticed that my steering wheel will not lock into place when the car is not running, could there be something wrong with my ignition switch?  I have not taken it back to the dealership because as you can tell they can't seem to find the problem.  Thanks  Donna

Answer
Donna,

Yes, the ignition could be defective.  You need to check the coils to make sure they are getting voltage when the key is on and that the fuel pressure is there when the key is on.  This would tell you if the car is getting fire or gas and if both are not then it would be the cylinder.  Now, you could check your other key and see if yours has lost programming.  The key is programmed to the car and if it is wiped from the body control module it could be doing the hard start and die in traffic thing.  So, check these out and email me back with more if you need to.
