Nissan Repair: Washer fell in spark plug hole!!!, vacuum hose, magnetic tip

Question
Hello,

My car was running rough, so I took out one of  the spark plug to check the burn. Accidently, I dropped a little washer (5mm) into the spark plug hole. At first, I didn't think it dropped in the hole. I put everything back together and started the engine. Next thing I hear is this rattle noise in my engine. It seems as if the noise is not coming from one particular area. I turned the motor off.

I am using a magnetic tip rod to try to remove the washer. I moved the cylinder to TDB and tried fishing it out. But, it is hopeless. It seems like the rod only reaches the center area of the bore. I put some compressed air to blow the washer out and this is not helping also.

What do you suggest I try doing? I want to avoid removing the head to get this little washer out. Do you still think the washer is inside same cylinder bore or could it have moved to another area?

Thanks for your time. I would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks.

Answer
Eddie,

The only other way is to get a vacuum and tape a small vacuum hose to it and try fishing it out that way.  I hope the valve or piston was not dameaged or you might have to do more than take the head off if you cannot get the washer out my way.  I have used the trick before on a Corvette so I know it will work given time.  Now, you might move the piston to the bottom of the stroke to get a better angle.
