Nissan Repair: key wont turn ignition, steering wheel, wiggle

Key wont turn  ignition in 97 Quest , steering wheel stays in locked position, tranny stays in park as a result happened suddenly ,what could it be?

The wheel could be locked and loaded where you will need to turn the key while moving the steering wheel back and forth to get the pin to release.  If it does not work turn the key over and see if the teeth on the other side are better and if that does not work get the other key to the car and wiggle the wheel while turning the key.
