Nissan Repair: 2001 Sentra coils, mass airflow sensor, pcv valve

Question
My 75K Mile 2001 Sentra has been experiencing a slight hesitation/misfire recently. This occurs when I am keeping the vehicle at a constant speed and has the feel of water in the fuel. There is a power loss also. I have tried gas treatment,a new air filter, a new PCV valve and new plugs.Problem is persisting. Have not changed gas filter as Nissan dealer says this is a non serviceable item. Have been hesitant to change filter as it is in the tank behind the seat. Could this be a coil problem? No service engine soon light has ever come on. How do I determine if the problem is coil related? Thanks

Answer
Rob,

The things on the Sentra you have that cause this problem are the coils and the mass airflow sensor.  The filter is in the tank and is part of the pump.  So, if that is your problem they have to remove the pump to get to it and it is really just a sock and not a traditional fuel filter.
