Nissan Repair: Nissan Quest Sunroof, nissan quest, allen wrench

I have a 96 Nissan Quest w/a sunroof that is not working.  When I press the button to open it, it makes a loud stuttering type sound.  IT does not open at all.  What could be the problem?  Also, do these vans not offer a crank for the sunroof?

Yes, there is an emergency crank at the front of the sunroof under a plug.  There should be something in the owners manual to show you how to access the hole and what to use for a crank.  Many have a handle in the tool kit and some use an allen wrench to crank it.  If it is making noise the drive is off the track or the gear is stripped.  If it is broken closed you are in luck.  If it is open you are really going to have to get it repaired.  This is a dealer repair or a specialty shop that deals with sunroofs.
