Nissan Repair: 97 Nissan Maxima Transmission Flush, nissan maxima, point thanks

Question
Hi,
My 97 maxima is at 100000 miles and although a little late I am going to do the 90000 mile service. I have no problems with my car. But I was wondering if it is worth it to do a transmission flush instead of just a drain. Also, is there anything else that I would explicitly ask the technician to do at this point?
Thanks.

Answer
Siju,

I would go with the drain and fill and not a flush as the car has so many miles on it.  If you did the regular drains on the transmission fluid you should be fine with just a drain of the transmission and not the entire transmission.  Remember, that this transmission cost between $1600 and $2400 to get rebuilt so you want to take care of it and if you do a complete flush the clutches might start slipping.  If you have never drained the transmission I would not touch it.  I would run to fail since it will last longer that way.  I have seen too many transmissions go out after 100,000 miles by people that flush the transmission after never doing anything until that point.
