Nissan Repair: Nissan Altima-vibration at stop lights, nissan altima gxe, nissan altima

Question
Hi. I have a 2001 Nissan Altima..GXE ..Whenever I come to a stoplight or when my car is at a standstill it almost feels like my car is going to stall but it doesn't. I have an automatic. My RPM goes up and down at little also. I brought it to Valvoline on sat and they thought maybe it was the spark plugs..so they changed them or replaced them, did a fuel injection cleaning, changed oil and air filter and car is still doing the same thing..It hasn't had many major problems..the mileage is 84,000.00

Answer
Adrienne,

The engine is stumbling due to one of a couple of things.  The first is the throttle body probably needs to be cleaned and the other is the idle air control valve could be gummed up.  I would have both of these items cleaned and see if that clears up the idle problem.  There was no check engine light was there?  If so, email me back.
