Nissan Repair: big oil leak, haynes manual, oil leak

97 Sentra 1.6L 150,000 miles
major oil leak came on suddenly.
It appears to come from the area to the right of the filter, but filter is on tight.
It seems to be worse when the car is running.
I DO have the right filter on it.  It is hard to get under there to see.  So maybe you will know what might be causing this.  Haynes manual is no help.  Thank you for volunteering here.  I am always grateful that you are in my shade tree toolbox.

If you just chaned the oil or had it changed recently it could have a double gasket on it and that would cause the really bad oil leak.  Remove the filter and make sure the gaskets are off and replace it with a new filter with only the gasket that came with the filter.  It will look like a black o-ring on the filter and all you do is spin it on.
