Nissan Repair: defrost/recycle/ A/C switches not responsive, ribbon connector, aftermarket stereo

On a sentra gxe 2001, the defrost/recycle/ A/C switches are not working. These 3 switches are located one on top of another with leds on their right side. Orange for defrost & recycle...and green for a/c. I press and depress all switches and no leds come on.I verified also that the associated functions are also not working.

Any idea would be greatly appreciated.

The switches are computer controlled.  There are several things that can cause the problem.  If an aftermarket stereo was installed the cable could have come undone.  The fuse might be blown or the circuit board could be burnt out.  Check the fuse first and be sure that the ribbon connector is installed and if these are good you probably have a blown board that these switches control.  Email me back and let me know what you find.
