Nissan Repair: Suspension,Transmission, 2005 nissan altima, nissan altima

Question
-------------------------
Followup To For the bouncy ride would this be the struts or shocks already in need of replacing?  The rocking motion is felt when say i am just rolling at very low speeds and not using the gas.  Finally it seems when i do let off the gas there seems to be something causing a drag.  the car doesnt seem to continue a foward roll like most cars.  So in your opinion would you advise taking the lose now and exchanging vehicles as this one going to be one problem after another?
Question -
My 2005 Nissan Altima has 40k miles and the transmission seems to do a hard shift when making a quick stop or start. The ride has also become quite jolting.  When travelling at very slow speeds of like 5 mph it seems to rock like a boat. I took the car in at 25k and the nissan dealer told me the rear alinment was out.  I had to replace the rear tires.

Mark,

If your car is a 2005 it has to be the transmission shift control module that is causing the shift problem.  If it is at 40K miles then your warranty is out and Nissan is going to make some money off you unless you can show that the problem was there before the warranty ran out.  Check out the service bulletins on your car and see if there is one that pertains to the shift problem you are experiencing.  When you say rock like a boat is there a broken engine mount?  Email me back and let me know.

Answer
Mark,

It could be a broken motor mount or defective tires.  If you are out of warranty it is going to start costing money.  But, I would check the tires for seperation and the motor mounts for being soft or defective.  If both of these check good then I would be looking to dump the car and get something else.
