my 1988 nissan truck feels like its going to turn off when ever i try to speed up> i have to drive slow and change gears when ever i feel it bogging out. it mainly does it when its cold. please help
Answer -
Javier,

Is the 1988 fuel injected?  If it is then I would check the cold start valve.  If it not then I would check the power valve in the carburetor.  Other indications extend to the distributor having a blown seal and allowing oil to get on the optical pickup.  Email me back and let me know if you have fuel injection or a carburetor and if you have checked the distributor for oil inside the optical pickup.

its the electronic fuel injected z24.  i havent check the distributor. how would i go about checkin the cold start> thanks for taking the time to help me out.

Answer
Javier,

Ok, change the fuel filter and air filter and the plugs and wires and cap and rotor.  My bet is it is bogging down due to a couple of things.  The first is the spark plugs not giving enough spark and the fuel pressure is being screwed with by the dirty fuel filter.  Change this stuff and email me back.
