Nissan Repair: 95 nissan Maximan wont start, maximan, ac radio

95 nissan Maximan manual transm. When you turn the key, lights, ac, radio etc.. come on.
The PROBLEM is the car won't start in neutral or first gear. I moved to other gears and was able to start car in 2nd, but now I can't start it.
There is no alarm system in this car.
Please advise. Thank you in advance

The nuetral safety switch is on the clutch and that is where I would be looking.  If the car would start when you have the trans in neutral and your foot on the clutch.  I would press in the clutch pedal several times to see if this is the problem.  Also, you can wire around the switch to see if it will start.  If you do this be sure to put it back to normal or you might start the car in gear with the clutch out.  Also, if this does not do the trick it is most probably the starter.
