Nissan Repair: gas leak, road debris, gas hose

I have a 1993 altima, today when I went to the bank I turn on the car and immediatly smelled gas.  Turn off the car look underneath and saw that something was leaking in the middle of the car and the only thing I smelled was gas.  Could you please let me know what in the underneath middle of the car that contains gas?  Hose? The fuel tank on the car has a hose that connects to the fuel injection and the hose could be rotted out since the car is a 1993.  I just replaced the hose on an 87 Stanza that had a rotted out hose.  Also, you could have run over something in the road that could have caused a cut or dent in the fuel line and lastly the tank could have a hole in it from road debris.  I would get the car up on a lift and check all the lines and the tank.
