my 96 nissan wont pass emissions due to intake air temp sensor. i replaced it with 4 new ones and still same code.i went to test with my ohm meter and not ohming out on plug from computer.but sensor ohms out .im at a loss any help greatly appreciated

David,

I do not know the reading that you are supposed to get at the air inlet temperature sensor connection.  Now, with the vehicle off there will be no reading from the sensor harness as the computer controls the voltage going to the air temperature sensor through a relay that it grounds and reads the output from the sensor when it is powered.  But, I would be checking the circuit by following the wires from the sensor plug to the harness as far as you can.  Then, if that does not answer the question I would disconnect and reseat the computer  ECM connecton and then give it a try.  I assume yours is throwing a code?

i traced the wires to the ecm whil truck running and still no power to the intake air temp sensor.i disconnected and drove for recommended cycle and once again IAT code .i once again checked with volt/ohm meter at the ecm and still no power being sent to IAT sensor . im begining to think ecm is bad
. any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated ,and thank u for your time ...david

Answer
David,

You and I are on the same path.  I think it is a bad ECM too.  If you disconnected the ecm and did a continuity check at each end of the circuit and reconnected the ECM and you still have the problem I would say you have a bad ECM and that is what the Nissan fault tree shows too.
