Nissan Repair: 1999 Nissan Quest Brakes, wheel bearings, brake caliper

Question
What size wrench or allen key do I need to remove the brake caliper to get the pads off and do the front brake rotors have the wheel bearings in them?  Thank you in advance.

Answer
Chris,

The socket to use is a 13 or 14 millimeter and it is really easy as the rotors come off without removing the bearings.  Remember that it is front wheel drive and the bearings are sealed and do not need to be greased.  Buy factory pads or Performance Friction Carbon Metallic and you should be fine.  It is an easy job provided the rotors are not warped.  If the pedal pulsed prior to you changing the brakes you will probably need new rotors as the factory ones are so thin they usually cannot be turned.  Take yours in if they are warped and have them checked for minimum thickness prior to buying new rotors.
