Nissan Repair: 1993 Nissan Maxima GXE factory alarm, nissan maxima gxe, keyless entry pad

Question
I have a 1993 Nissan Maxima that has a keyless entry pad that slowly went out. (meaning sometimes it would work, then finally not at all). Now the car has overheated and is in a location where tow trucks cannot get to it and everytime I try to open the door the factory alarm goes off and the engine won't start. I cannot punch in the code to turn it off because the key pad does not work. I have called 4 local dealers and they tell me to lock the door and stick the key in, but that is not working. Is there a way to disable the alarm so that I can start it? And is there a fuse somewhere that goes to the keypad? My power locks also went out at the same time.

Answer
Jodi,

The dealers are correct and there is not a fuse that will just disable the system.  You have to get a good charge on the system and try the lock the doors and unlock with the key and it should work.  I have done one that required the replacement of the pad before the system would operate normally.
