Nissan Repair: Tail Lights, brake light switch, tail lights

Question
My tail lights continue to burn after engine turned off.  Checked fuse-ok.  This just started last night.  What should I check?

Answer
Anthony,

It is probably the brake light switch that is not depressing.  This is located at the top of the brake pedal.  Pull back on the brake pedal easy and see if the lights do not go out.  Now, get under the dash and look up where the brake pedal goes and you will see a switch about half way up.  This is the switch that needs to be adjusted or replaced.  To adjust it needs to be moved out where it contacts the stop better and if this does not do the trick you will probably need to replace the switch.
