what's the amps needed to open the fuel injectors on a '81'280zx? I'm trying to clean out the injectors and lines.

You would not want to clean them the way you are thinking.  First, go down to NAPA and get a fuel injector cleaning kit.  Then unplug the fuel pump fuse and connect the can to the injector rail and start the car.  This injector cleaner will run the engine until the can is empty and your rail and injectors will be clean.  Never hook up an alternative source of electricity to the injectors as you will end up burning them out.  The injector pulse width is very small and the injectors are only open for a short time.  If you energized them any longer and you will end up burning up their internal windings.  Think of them as a speaker.  If you clip the amp the voice coils melt.  The same thing would happen with an injector.
