Nissan Repair: 95 Nissan XE Pickup Stereo and Dash, haynes manual, battery 12v

I have a 1995 Nissan XE Pickup Standard Cab.  The problem started with what looks like a faulty ground.  The car stereo would turn on-and-off intermittently.  I checked the battery and wires, stereo harness, 12V ignition and 12V battery (12V ignition intermittent).  About 5 days ago the Charging System bulb came on on the instrument panel.  Now I've lost the Speedometer, Temp Gauge, RPM indicator and Odometer function.  I have a Haynes manual which hasn't been much help.  I am at a loss on what/where else to check.  Please help!

First check the alternator output to see if you get between 12.5 and 15 volts.  If the alternator is putting out correctly then check for the ground wire from the instrument panel to the firewall.  But, since you say the charge light came on I can jump to the conclusion that the alternator is not putting out enough to run the systems.
