Nissan Repair: tranny repair or replacement?, nissan sentra, fifth gear

The vehicle in question is a 1994 nissan Sentra with a five speed manual.
The transmission is jumping out of fifth gear--at any speed or acceleration--and I was wondering if repair of, or replacement would be the best option. is this a job week-end warriors could undertake or would you suggest a more professional approach? Thanks for any suggestions.

Lewis,  If you could get a good one from the wrecking yard that would be cool or you could have fifth gear replaced in yours if you have the time to take the transmission to a shop and then put in yourself.  The nice thing on yours is you know that only fifth gear is messed up so that would be the safer route.
