Nissan Repair: 98 Maxima brake/rotor, brake rotor, nissan dealership

Question
I changed my rear brake pads and rotor about a 2 months ago. When i try to reverse the car it is making a loud grinding noise.  Also when the wheels are wet it gets worse.  This noise was heard even before i changed the pads and rotor.  I would like to know what is causing this noise and how it can be corrected.  Is it the caliper?

Answer
Raven,

Go to the Nissan dealership and get a brake shim kit for your car.  It is about $20 bucks and it comes with new slide inserts for the pads as well as noise shims.  It will make the noise go away.  All you do is take your pads off and install the parts and put your pads back on and the noise will be gone.  I have a 2000 Maxima and a 2003 350Z and it worked for both of them.
