Nissan Repair: spark plug broke off porcelain pieces fell into sprak plug hole, sentra model, nissan sentra

Question
upon removing a tight spark plug, part of the porcelain broke off into pieces and fell into the spark plug hole.  I cannot remove/find all pieces of the porcelain, is it ok to put a new spark plug in and run the engine. the car is a 94 nissan sentra, model ga16de.  displacement 97.39 cu. in. (1.596 cm\3.  please answer quickly if possible. thanks very much.

Answer
Horst,

I would hook up a vacuum to a long peice of vacuum hose and then stick the vacuum hose into the spark plug hole and be sure that I got it all out.  If you leave anything in the combustion chamber you stand a chance of damage to the valves and piston in that cylinder.  So, get a vacuum and then get some duct tape and hook up a hose that will fit into the hole and get the pieces out.  The other way is to leave the plug out and then ground the plugwire, so you will not damage the coil or module, and start the engine and let the engine blow the debris out of the hole.  It only takes a few seconds and it will be out of the hole.  I have done it both ways but prefer the vacuum.
