Nissan Repair: Nissan Frontier spark plug wire blows out, spark plug wires, spark plug wire

Question
My son and I just replaced the spark plug wires on his 1998 Nissan Frontier 2wd pickup.  double overhead cam 4 cylinder engine.  After replacing the truck ran fine and then began missing.  When we looked under the hood the no.4 cyliner wire and connector had "blown" up out of the spark plug hole between the cams.  I repeatedly does this.  What's up?
Thank you for any information you can provide.

Answer
Mark,

Remove the sparkplug from that hole and see if it is not seating properly or if the washer is missing.  Other than that the only other reason the boot will pop off is that the spring connection that clicks when you put the boot on the plug is not strong enough to hold.  You can check this by taking the plug and pushing it into the boot while you have the sparkplug out.  If you are really careful you can pull the boot back on the wire and crimp the end where it snaps on the end of the plug.  Then, push the boot back down where it will cover the end of the sparkplug.
